Prague has one of the best public transport systems in the world. The easiest way to travel around Prague is with a 24 hour or 72 hour ticket. It’s simple and hassle-free! Tickets are available in classic paper form at each metro station or in electronic form in the Lítačka app. Just buy the ticket, do not forget to stamp the paper one when you first board a vehicle or enter a metro station and that’s it. What are the advantages of using a 24/72 hour ticket?
- Costs 120 CZK (or 330 CZK for the 72-hour variant).
- Valid for 24 (or 72 hours) since stamping: if you stamp it at 19:35, you can use it until 19:35 the next day (or 19:35 three days later).
- Good for an unlimited number of rides within the period of validity.
- Can be used on PID trams, subway, buses, ferries, trains in Prague, except for vintage routes K, 41, 42 and Airport express AE.
- It is valid on the funicular to Petřín, which otherwise costs 60 CZK one-way.
- You can carry one piece of luggage (not on trains though), which would cost 20 CZK.
- If you are traveling with a child under 3 years old who can present an ID card or passport, you, as the accompanying adult, can travel for free.
The nearest metro stations to our apartments are Můstek, the interchange of Line A (green) and Line B (yellow) at the lower and central part of Wenceslas Square, and Muzeum, the interchange of Line A (green) and Line C (red), located at the upper part of Wenceslas Square.
The closest tram stop is on Vodičkova Street, which is in the middle of Wenceslas Square.
There are several parking options available near the apartment in Prague. You can find them on the Mr. Parkit website. Go to the site, fill in the form with your dates and location (simply enter Prague or Prague 1). A map of all currently available parking spaces and their prices will then appear. Choose your preferred spot and make a reservation.
The apartment is located in a paid parking zone. Do not park on city streets without paying the parking permit fee first, otherwise you risk having your vehicle towed or wheel-clamped. The fee for parking permits in paid zones must be paid in advance through the Parking card platform. However, paying this fee does not guarantee that you will find an available parking space on the street. Keep in mind that especially during the day, it is very difficult to find a free spot in the paid zones in the city center.
The largest parking garage in the city center is Garage Muzeum, offering nearly 500 parking spaces. The price is 800 CZK per day. Reservations are not possible in advance. The garage is less than 1 km from our apartments, which is about a 15-minute walk.
